Activity itinerary

World War 2 Memorial (Pass by)

At the World War II Memorial, travelers step into a powerful tribute to the 16 million Americans who served and the more than 400,000 who lost their lives during World War II. The experience is both reflective and visually striking.

Lincoln Memorial (Pass by)

At the Lincoln Memorial, travelers experience one of the most iconic and emotionally powerful landmarks in the United States. Dedicated to Abraham Lincoln, this monument honors his leadership during the American Civil War and his role in preserving the Union and ending slavery. As visitors approach, they’ll climb the wide marble steps leading up to the grand structure, inspired by ancient Greek architecture. From the top, they’re rewarded with a sweeping view of the Reflecting Pool and the distant Washington Monument. It is a perfect photo moment, especially at sunrise or sunset.

Korean War Veterans Memorial (Pass by)

At the Korean War Veterans Memorial, visitors step into a deeply moving tribute honoring those who served in the Korean War. As travelers enter, they encounter stainless steel statues of soldiers advancing cautiously through rough terrain. Each figure represents a different branch of the U.S. military, dressed in ponchos and captured mid-patrol. Their lifelike expressions and movement create a powerful sense of urgency and realism. Alongside the statues, the Mural Wall displays more than 2,400 engraved images of actual service members. When viewed from certain angles, the reflections of the statues merge with these faces, visually reinforcing the scale of those who served.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial (Pass by)

At the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, travelers experience one of the most personal and emotional sites on the National Mall, honoring those who served in the Vietnam War. As visitors approach, the black granite wall gradually emerges from the earth, creating a quiet and reflective atmosphere. Etched into its surface are the names of more than 58,000 service members who were killed or remain missing.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial (Pass by)

As visitors arrive, they pass through the “Mountain of Despair,” a massive stone structure that opens into the “Stone of Hope,” where a towering statue of Dr. King emerges. This design symbolizes his famous line about carving “a stone of hope out of a mountain of despair,” creating a meaningful and symbolic entrance to the memorial. The setting along the Tidal Basin adds to the experience, often framed by cherry blossoms in the spring or peaceful waterfront views year-round. Surrounding the memorial, engraved walls feature quotes from Dr. King’s speeches and writings. These words invite visitors to reflect on themes of justice, equality, and nonviolence, connecting his message to the present day.

Washington Monument (Pass by)

As visitors approach, the towering white obelisk rises above the National Mall, surrounded by a circle of American flags. Walking around its base, guests can take in the monument’s scale and symmetry while enjoying open views in every direction.
