What you can expect

Begin your trip with a 30-minute boat tour of Lake Wanaka before arriving at Mou Waho Island. Led by expert local guides, this small-group nature walk reveals stunning lake and alpine views and rare native birds like the Buff Weka.

Enjoy a guided walk to discover the island's secret – a lake on top of an island, on top of a lake on an island! Be immersed in the echo of birdsong and take your time with unhurried exploration, letting nature come to you.

Take part in the island's future by planting a native tree. All tours plant a native tree on the island during their visit, giving back to the environment. Over 8,000 trees have been planted so far.

Enjoy morning or afternoon tea as you take in the surrounding views.

We return by boat to Wanaka, cruising across the lake, with your local guide there to tell you all about the surrounding area and it's history.
