The hiking trail “Quadrassal”, goes through the estate Quinta do Romeu with some thousands of hectares/acres of woodland typically Mediterranean that has its origins in the Pliocene (approximately 5 million years ago). The land contains stretches of an indescribable beauty, both in terms of its landscape and of the environmental balance within.

The estate is entirely run under certified Organic Farming. Parts of the estate are classified within the Natura 2000 network, the European network for the preservation of biodiversity and natural habitats.

The hiking ends at Maria Rita restaurant, with a historic ambience, where we can taste various Douro DOC wines, as well as a choice family recipe prepared exclusively with Romeu Olive Oil and local vegetables. Served with simplicity and affability by local girls, the harmony is perfect, the experience surprising.
