This is a small group tour that includes the oldest part of Charleston, the Charlestowne neighborhood. It includes the site of the original walled city, Charleston’s biggest home—the Williams Mansion at 25,000 sq. ft.—as well as White Point Gardens, Rainbow Row, some of Charleston’s oldest churches and museum houses, and much more. When we walk the High Battery I will be talking about the Civil War and the Revolutionary War including the Battle of Battery Wagner featured in the movie Glory. We will also be walking Tradd Street where the movie The Patriot was filmed. On Church Street you will see Catfish Row featured in the play Porgy and Bess.
