What you can expect

Day 1:

  • We'll pick you up at your hotel or departure point in Bukhara.
  • You'll embark on a 3-hour journey into the Nurata Mountains. You'll stop to visit the Nurata Fortress, an ancient bastion rebuilt by Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC. There, you'll also see the sacred Chachma spring. According to legend, it was invented by the prophet Job. Still considered a place of healing by the surrounding inhabitants, it has also long been a major pilgrimage site for Muslims (45-minute visit).
  • Ceramic making workshop.
  • You'll head to the Kyzylkum Desert, where, after nearly an hour's drive, you'll visit Lake Aydar, a huge artificial basin surrounded by desert landscapes that don't detract from the lake's serenity.
  • Lunch by the lake (beach).
  • You'll have the opportunity to stroll along its shores or, if you wish, you can swim in its tranquil waters.
  • Arrive at the yurt camp.
  • Later in the afternoon, you'll take a camel ride in the Kyzylkoum desert, the perfect opportunity to admire a sunset like you've never seen before.
  • Finally, you'll immerse yourself in the Uzbek nomadic culture by spending a night in a traditional yurt, a unique experience not to be missed!
  • In the yurt camp, you'll enjoy the hospitality of the nomads, while dining under the stars on typical dishes such as “plov”, the national dish.
  • You'll listen to Karakalpak music played around a campfire – a rich experience that will immerse you in the ancestral way of life of the nomadic peoples of Central Asia.

Day 2:

  • After breakfast, you'll be transferred to the village of Ashraf, Ukhum, or Sentob in the Nourata Mountains.
  • Settling into the accommodation.
  • Lunch at a local's home (traditional cuisine).
  • Then, a hiking experience where you can enjoy the nature and mountain landscapes.
  • Dinner at a local's home, to combine the taste of history with local cuisine, while enjoying typical dishes. This authentic experience will let you discover local customs and traditions, surrounded by beautiful scenery and fresh air.

Day 3:

  • After breakfast at the homestay, your driver will take you to the ancient city of Samarkand.
