What you can expect

What once was an island to flee to in the medieval world, became one of the most visited romantic UNESCO heritage sites in the world.

Explore the narrow streets and the enduring lagoon of Venice. This tour departs from Florence, on board of a comfortable GT coach bus. Discover how Florence and Venice resemble and differ in terms of architectural characteristics and artistic history. Both cities played a big role in the unfolding of the Renaissance.

Upon arrival, your tour leader will guide you to the main square, Piazza San Marco; the best example you have of the Venetian Gothic architectural style, which is to be seen all over the city. Another example of a wonder of the Gothic architecture in Venice is the Palazzo Ducale, located only a skip away from the Basilica main square. The palazzo Ducale is a must see as this palace is full of history and surprises, the Palazzo Ducale has been used as a prison as well as the home of the Doge of Venice.

Venice is built out of 118 islands that are separated by the waters of the Venetian Lagoon and linked by bridges. The main means of transport in this floating city besides walking is by boat! This tour gives you the opportunity to sail on a Gondola boat accompanied by your own Gondoliere balancing the Gondola as you sail on the Venetian waters and take in the beauty from a different point of view.

At the end of the day you will come back to your guide and head back home with new memories, knowledge and experiences.
