What you can expect
Most people walk through forests. Very few ever experience them from above — and fewer still at sunset.
Sunset Expedition is a guided tree climbing adventure in the iconic UBC Botanical Garden, timed for Vancouver’s best evening light. You’ll ascend into a mature forest tree using professional rope systems, then explore the upper canopy as the day fades into golden hour. From high in the treetops, enjoy quiet forest views stretching toward the ocean and mountains, with warm light filtering through the canopy.
This is a slower-paced, more intimate expedition designed for couples, friends, and anyone looking for an unforgettable evening outdoors. With small group sizes, expert instruction, and optional battery-assisted ascent support, the climb is approachable for first-time adventurers while still delivering a truly elevated experience.
After-hours garden access, light in-canopy refreshments, and guide-provided photos make this our most memorable way to experience the treetops.
If you can get into a harness, we can get you into a tree.
The tour takes place in the UBC Botanical Garden, Canada’s oldest operating botanical garden and a living museum of plant collections from around the world. A visit to the garden pairs perfectly with your tree climbing adventure, offering beautiful walking trails, diverse ecosystems, and world-class plant collections that deepen your appreciation for the forest from the ground up.
