Experience a true West Coast adventure just minutes from Vancouver on this exciting 3.5-4 hour excursion. Snorkel in the stunning Howe Sound, then head toward the Pam Rocks seal colony for a glance at these gorgeous sea creatures. Slip into a wet suit and strap on some snorkel gear for a dip in the sea. For those who prefer to stay in the boat, there's also a 'sightseeing only' option. All snorkelling equipment, refreshments, and light snacks are included. (PS - wetsuits keep you warm AND make you float!)
Make your way to the expedition centre in Horseshoe Bay, where you board the boat for your adventure on the water. Set off to the north, traveling through Howe Sound - a Unesco biosphere reserve - to resident seal colonies.
Snap photos of the harbour seals sunning themselves on the rocks and moving effortlessly through the water. Harbour seals can grow up to six feet (1.8 meters) in length and are known to be docile and curious.
Don a provided wet suit and snorkel gear, then slip into the water and watch the seals from a respectful distance under the supervision of your snorkel guide. Chances are, the seals may want to check out their visitors; you and your group follow their lead and your guide ensures your safety. Kayakers climb into their boats and float nearby; the seals may bob along the surface next to the kayaks or swim playfully underneath. Switch between kayaking and snorkelling, or simply stay on the boat and watch the show. No snorkelling or kayaking experience is necessary.
This excursion includes light snacks and hot soup. Enjoy cruising Howe Sound, admiring ocean and mountain scenery of Howe Sound - a Unesco Biosphere location.
Your tour ends up back at your departure point in Horseshoe Bay.
