What you can expect

Pick-up from your hotel between 4:00 am and 4:45 am
We begin our tour in our tourist minivan, traveling from Cusco to Mollepata for a 2-hour journey, taking in the beautiful scenery of valleys, mountains, and snow-capped peaks of the majestic Salkantay. In Mollepata, we will stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast. We will then continue the 1-hour minivan journey to Challacancha or Soraypampa, where you will begin your independent trek to your campsite, Humantay Lagoon, or Salkantay.

You will have free time to prepare for the start of the 4-day or 5-day Salkantay Trek, which culminates in Machu Picchu. This route is highly sought after by hiking enthusiasts, and many tourists choose to undertake this activity independently due to the high cost of tour operator packages. For these individuals, it is NECESSARY and mandatory to travel by vehicle from Cusco to Soraypampa, the starting point of the Salkantay Trek.
