What you can expect

  • Experience the “Valley of Many Cellars” – From Ancient Stone to Fine Wine

Get ready to swap the shores of Lake Garda for the rolling green hills of Valpolicella. This curated afternoon journey blends Romanesque history, breathtaking landscapes, and the bold flavors of Italy’s most prestigious red wines.

1:30 PM | Departure from Garda
Meet your guide and settle in for a scenic drive. Watch the olive groves of the lakeside transform into the geometric precision of world-class vineyards as we head into the heart of the wine region.

2:30 PM | Step Back in Time: San Giorgio di Valpolicella
We begin in one of Italy’s “Borghi più belli” (most beautiful villages). High atop a limestone ridge sits the Pieve di San Giorgio, an 8th-century Romanesque church.
The Highlight: Wander through the ancient cloister and soak in the “postcard-perfect” panoramic views stretching from the mountains all the way back to Lake Garda.

4:00 PM | The Art of the Amarone: Wine Cellar Visit
No trip here is complete without entering the sanctuary of a celebrated local winery.
The Tour: Go behind the scenes to see the fruttaio (drying rooms) where grapes wither to concentrate their sugars.
The Tasting: Sip your way through the classics—from the fresh Valpolicella Classico to the robust, velvety Amarone. All accompanied by local snacks to bring out the notes of cherry and spice.

6:30 PM | Golden Hour Return
With a newfound appreciation for the region (and perhaps a bottle or two in hand), enjoy a relaxing drive back to Garda, arriving just in time for an evening aperitivo by the water.
