What you can expect

Tirana – Saranda – Gjirokastra

Our journey begins with a scenic drive south along Albania’s Riviera, passing some of the country’s most stunning beaches, including Saranda and Ksamil. We arrive at Butrint National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important archaeological areas in the Balkans. Here, ancient ruins reveal the layered history of civilizations that once thrived in this region.

In the afternoon, we continue to Gjirokastra, another UNESCO World Heritage site, dramatically set on the slopes of Mount Gjere. Known as the “Stone City,” Gjirokastra enchants visitors with its well-preserved Ottoman-era architecture and steep cobbled streets. We’ll visit the Old Bazaar, rich with artisan shops and local crafts, and explore the Gjirokastra Fortress, the city’s most iconic landmark. Perched high above the valley, the fortress offers breathtaking views and a deep connection to Albania’s storied past.

Gjirokastra – Apollonia – Berat

After breakfast, we travel toward Apollonia, an ancient city near Fier founded in the 6th century BC. This archaeological park combines striking ruins with serene natural beauty, offering a peaceful setting to reflect on centuries of history.

Our next destination is Berat, known as the “City of a Thousand Windows.” Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2008, Berat showcases impressive Ottoman architecture, picturesque hillside houses, and a rich blend of religious and cultural heritage.

Berat – Durres – Tirana

We continue to Durres, Albania’s main coastal hub and one of the oldest cities in the country. Here, we’ll explore the Roman Amphitheatre, a remarkable reminder of ancient times, and enjoy a stroll along the seaside promenade.

Our memorable journey concludes with our return to Tirana, filled with unforgettable moments from Albania’s rich history, culture, and natural beauty.
