Pigeon Valley earned its name from the countless man made dovecotes (Pigeon Houses) that have been carved into the soft volcanic tuff. Since ancient times Pigeons have been used in the Cappadocia region for food and fertiliser for the infertile soil. While pigeons no longer play such an important role in the area, their rocky homes have still been maintained by locals and can be found atop rock pillars and inside excavated cave houses and churches throughout the region

The underground cities of Cappadocia were built by carving the rocks down on volcanic tuff land. We still don’t know how they manage to carve this deep underground considering there were no technologic equipment's. To identify their age, the traces left by ancient civilizations are used.

Soğanlı Valley is located in in the southeastern part of the region of Cappadocia. The valley contains several rock-cut churches and other rock-cut buildings, carved from the soft tuff stone of the Cappadocian landscape. we will walk inside of the valley and you see local people and village life. We go to karabaş church and snake church in this valley and we have our lunch in the local village restaurant after our valley trip
Sobesos Ancient City

Sobesos Ancient City was discovered by accident in 2002. The city, which is one of the mirrors of Cappadocia's history, was unearthed as a result of a 3-year archaeological excavation. As a result of the excavations, it has been observed that there are many motifs embroidered on colored stones. Especially the floor mosaics are made with interesting geometric patterns.
