Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Kigali or from Kigali International Airport. Meet your guide, who will brief you about your safari and then transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga National Park, depending on the availability of gorilla trekking permits.
Travel through a beautiful countryside often referred to as the Switzerland of Africa due to its beautiful rolling hills. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch or stop in Kabale town for lunch. Later in the afternoon, visit the Batwa communities that live around the forest. Learn how they used to live in the forest, hunt for food, and enjoy traditional entertainment.
The next day, after an early breakfast, your driver-guide will transfer you to the starting point for a briefing about the gorilla trekking adventure you are about to take. Be briefed by experienced ranger guides and trackers from the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Gorilla tracking can be physically demanding but the whole experience is amazing and worth it. Track through the forest for gorillas. Once you meet spot them, you will be able to see how they interact with their young ones, vocalize, and feed.
Have your lunch away from them in the forest and return to the park offices for a small ceremony. Then, be transferred back to your hotel in Kigali or to the airport for your outbound flight.
