Embark on a half-day boat journey through the UNESCO-listed Danube Delta, capturing the true spirit of this unique ecosystem. Depart from Tulcea Harbour and enter Gârla Sireasa, a scenic canal alive with cormorants, coots, egrets, herons, and ducks.
Continue to Gârla Sontea, a wide waterway framed by fallen trees and cinematic reflections. Pass the iconic fishermen's platform known locally as 'La scaunele', a beloved landmark of the delta.
Next, glide across tranquil Lake Fortuna, draped in algae and water plants and favored by pelicans, egrets, and red ducks. Lakes Vacaru and Ligheanca welcome you with colonies of swans and carpets of water lilies.
Stop at Mile 23 (Mila 23), one of the most authentic villages in the delta, accessible only by boat. Take time to wander the narrow paths or sit down for a traditional Lipovan meal: fish soup, pan-fried carp, and polenta (optional, at your own cost).
The return journey follows the Sulina Channel, passing through the villages of Maliuc, Partizani, and Vulturu — pristine delta scenery all the way back.
