Join Arctic GM — Tromsø’s Original Aurora Hunters™ with a family legacy beneath the Arctic sky for 20 generations since the 1600s.
Unlike stationary tours that stay parked in one location for hours, this experience actively hunts the Northern Lights across valleys, fjords, and inland micro-climates around Tromsø. Your Aurora Hunter guides use real-time tracking, coastal weather intelligence, and live reports from 150+ field team members positioned across Northern Scandinavia to help position you under the clearest skies available.
Your evening begins at one of Arctic GM’s designated central meeting points in Tromsø, where you’ll meet your certified Aurora Hunter guides and board a modern heated vehicle designed for Arctic winter roads. From here, the hunt begins: we may drive up to 2 hours one way in search of openings in the clouds, supported by our 24/7 Back Office Aurora Command Center and our network of 150+ on-field staff monitoring weather changes and visibility corridors — so we know where the skies are clear, even when apps and forecasts say otherwise.
Along the way, your guides will explain the science, legends, and stories behind the Aurora — while capturing professional DSLR photos of you under the night sky. Thermal overalls, hot drinks, and light snacks are included to keep you warm and comfortable throughout the evening.
When the Northern Lights appear, you’ll step into Norway’s Arctic wilderness, surrounded by dramatic mountain silhouettes and coastal silence. Your guide will take cinematic photos to capture the moment forever.
This tour typically lasts 4–6 hours, blending comfort, technology, and heritage — ideal for travelers seeking a professional, family-friendly Northern Lights hunt.
Not a campfire picnic. Not a passive wait. This is an Aurora hunt. We don’t wait for the lights — we go where the skies are clear.
