Sea Sami Exhibition (3rd Floor)

The Sea Sami have a rich history of living in harmony with their surroundings, and this exhibition captures their way of life, from fishing practices to traditional crafts and reindeer herding.
Northern Light Photo Exhibition (3rd Floor)
Within the Sea Sami Exhibition, marvel at breathtaking photographs of the Aurora Borealis by renowned photographers Ole Salomonsen, Truls Iversen, and Per Ivar Somby. These stunning images capture the mesmerizing dance of the Northern Lights, painting the sky with vibrant colors and ethereal patterns. Seafarer Exhibition (4th Floor)

Historic Full Steam Tromsø Building
Our museum is housed in a historic sea house, traditionally used for fishery activities. This building has been a hub for Arctic expeditions, hunting, and fishery, often referred to as the “gateway to the Arctic.” The building itself is a testament to the rich history of the region, providing a fitting backdrop for the stories and artifacts within.
