The experience begins right outside, in Bernini's colonnade, where 284 columns create a perfect perspective effect.

From the outside, you can admire:

• The Dome, designed by Michelangelo, which at a height of approximately 136 meters is now a symbol of Rome
• The façade: Designed by Carlo Maderno, it is an impressive example of late-Renaissance architecture.
