What you can expect

  • On this activity, we'll take a boat to the community of San Francisco, which is 15 minutes away, and climb Cerro Tortuguero, an inactive volcano and the highest point in the entire Costa Rican Caribbean. We'll climb about 450 steps to reach a vantage point, where the views are breathtaking. You'll see the entire town of San Francisco and Tortuguero, the sea, rivers, animals, and much more.
    This activity is completely safe and is one of the most popular in Tortuguero. The entire route has been upgraded with walkways, and there is security throughout the park. The activity lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
