What you can expect

Meet your instructor at Higashi-Ikebukuro Station and head to their cozy condo. Enjoy a friendly and authentic atmosphere as you learn the art of origami in a real Japanese home.

Your instructor is certified by the Nippon Origami Association, ensuring you receive high-quality, authentic guidance throughout the session. Whether you are a complete beginner or have tried it before, your instructor will guide you step-by-step through several models, ensuring you master the famous paper crane. If you can already create a crane, your instructor will prepare more advanced models for you. Please let her know your experience and preferences in advance.

During the break, enjoy two types of Japanese snacks served in a handmade origami box—a perfect photo opportunity. Learn about the fascinating history of origami, from its ancient roots to its modern applications in science and design.

Take home not only your paper creations but also a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and a memory of a warm, local encounter.

[ Optional Experience (Available to book) ]
After the origami class, experience an authentic Japanese lifestyle with our family’s private collection.
Samurai Heritage: Dress in beautiful silk kimonos and take photos with our registered antique samurai sword.
For Everyone: We have options for both men and women.
Capacity & Timing: Limited to max 2 guests due to dressing time (20 mins per person). If your group is 3-6 people, only 2 can participate in this option.
Note: We are a private home, not a rental shop; our selection is unique and limited.

Please select this option when booking to enjoy this rare opportunity.

The tour will conclude at the entrance of my condo, which is conveniently located near Higashi-ikebukuro Station (Y10) and Sunshine City—a popular shopping mall for anime and manga fans. You can also easily walk to the main Ikebukuro Station within 10 minutes, providing excellent access for the rest of your day..
