What you can expect

  • Step into the world of Japanese manga at Manga School Nakano and learn the techniques used to create manga illustrations.

    In this 2-hour, small-group class, a professional manga instructor will guide you step by step through the drawing process, from sketching and character proportions to inking, screentones, and finishing touches.

    Whether you’re a complete beginner or already enjoy drawing, the instructor will help you develop your own manga-style character and bring your ideas to life.

    You’ll work with real manga tools, including G-pens, ink, screentones, and manga paper, while learning practical techniques used in Japanese manga creation.

    At the end of the workshop, take home your finished original artwork—a unique souvenir created by you during your time in Tokyo.
