What you can expect
Meet your guide at JR Kamata Station and head to the Kamata and Ikegami areas. Explore a non-touristy part of Tokyo and experience the local shops, streets, and atmosphere.
Next, visit Ikegami Honmonji, a historic temple founded over 700 years ago during Japan’s Kamakura period. Learn about the role of temples in Japan, including their religious, cultural, and community significance.
Then, take part in a local art experience, such as balloon art or chalkboard art. Discover the craftsmanship and handwork culture of Japan. Enjoy an activity that is not language-dependent and can be enjoyed by people of all nationalities. Take home your finished product or take a photo of it.
Finally, learn about Japanese food culture through an OMAKASE-style sushi experience. Receive a simple introduction to Edomae sushi, Japanese food traditions, and fermentation culture, while enjoying sushi selected for you. This experience focuses on learning and tasting in a relaxed, approachable setting.
If you wish, enjoy a sake tasting with an explanation of the culture, aroma, and background of sake. Drinking is optional, and the experience is designed so that participants who do not drink alcohol will not lose out on the experience.
