An evening out can tell you a lot about a neighborhood. Join a local guide at two of their favorite izakayas, the casual Japanese pubs where food, drinks, and conversation go together.
Choose Hachioji, Tachikawa, or Kichijoji when booking, then meet your guide at the designated meeting point in that area. You will explore one neighborhood during your tour; there is no travel between the three areas.
Start with a brief introduction and tell your guide what you enjoy eating and drinking. Your guide will select two izakayas they know, taking your preferences, opening hours, and availability into account. The venues are not fixed in advance.
At the first stop, get comfortable with the menu and the way an izakaya meal works. Your guide will help you order, explain unfamiliar dishes, and suggest drinks to go with your choices. Depending on the venue, you might find grilled skewers, fried dishes, or seasonal small plates. These are examples, not a fixed menu.
Continue on foot to a second izakaya for another round of food, drinks, and conversation. Hear your guide's personal recommendations for the area and ask about everyday life in Tokyo. The experience centers on the places your guide knows and the evening you share, rather than a fixed sightseeing route.
Your booking includes JPY 1,500 per person at each of the two venues, for a total allowance of JPY 3,000. This covers food, drinks, and any mandatory seating or appetizer charges within that allowance. Your guide will help you order within the included amount. Additional orders beyond the allowance are optional and paid for separately.
The tour lasts approximately two hours, including walking, ordering, and payment time. It ends near the second venue in your selected area, and your guide can explain how to reach the nearest station.
