Join us on a full-day journey from Tirana or Durres to the charming city of Ohrid in North Macedonia, one of the Balkans’ most scenic and historically rich destinations.
Your adventure begins early in the morning with hotel pickup from Tirana, Durres, or Golem. On the way, enjoy a comfortable ride through the green landscapes of central Albania. We’ll have a short break for coffee and refreshments before crossing the Qafë Thana border into North Macedonia. The scenic drive to Ohrid takes about three hours.
Once we arrive, you’ll step into the Old Town of Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its cobblestone streets, ancient churches, and the shimmering Ohrid Lake. Explore the city’s old bazaar, admire the architecture, and enjoy free time for lunch at one of the lakeside restaurants or cozy taverns within the bazaar area.
After exploring Ohrid, we continue our route toward the Bay of Bones, a fascinating open-air museum built on wooden platforms above the lake, representing a reconstructed prehistoric settlement. We’ll make a short photo stop here before heading to the Monastery of St. Naum, one of the most beautiful religious sites in North Macedonia. Spend about an hour visiting the monastery complex and enjoy the peaceful surroundings where the clear spring waters flow into Lake Ohrid.
On our return to Albania, we’ll stop at Drilon National Park, near Pogradec. Known for its tranquil channels, lush greenery, and crystal-clear springs, Drilon offers a relaxing moment surrounded by nature.
Before ending the trip, we’ll make one last stop at the Qafë Thana Balcony — a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the picturesque Lin Village and the entire expanse of Ohrid Lake. It’s the perfect way to close the day with breathtaking views and lasting memories.
This tour lasts approximately 11–13 hours, offering a perfect blend of history, culture, and nature between two neighboring countries.
