The Pontirone Gorge in Ticino offers an impressive yet compact canyoning experience in a striking natural setting. Right from the start, Pontirone impresses with its huge boulders and deeply carved gorge landscape. Shortly thereafter, one of the major highlights of this tour awaits: the free-hanging, 40-meter (131-foot) rappelling point. This starting point immediately makes it clear why Pontirone is considered one of the most impressive shorter canyoning tours in Ticino.
As you continue, you’ll encounter white granite, deep pools, and plenty of great jumping opportunities from heights of around 30 to 40 feet – always optional, of course. The canyon initially remains narrow and distinctive, before it later opens up, and the tour ends directly below, at the car. It is precisely this combination of compact routes, spectacular rock formations, and abundant water that makes Pontirone a truly special experience.
