The experience begins with a meeting point in Paraíso da Serra or in Teresópolis, near the Refúgio, where we recommend an overnight stay the night before for a smooth start. From Paraíso da Serra, after the briefing and gear check, we continue walking for a few minutes along the road to the entrance of the hiking tour.
The climb on the hiking tour takes about 1 hour, through the Atlantic Forest, until we reach the rest and gearing-up point. There, we prepare for the start of the adventure, which continues alternating sections of exposed hike, steel cables, steps and scrambling for approximately 350 meters until reaching the base of the classic Via Face Leste, between Dedo de Deus and Pico do Polegar. Before starting the climb, we take a break to hydrate, take in the view, and take photos.
From there begins the technical climb of the Face Leste, a historic route opened in 1944, and the famous Maria Cebola variant, a very beautiful aerial dihedral. We make about 6 strategic stops, always with guided progression and safety systems, until reaching the summit of Dedo de Deus, at an elevation of 1,692 meters.
At the summit, we take a longer break to enjoy the panoramic view of the National Park of Serra dos Órgãos, rest, have a snack, and take photos. The descent is by rappelling, ensuring an exciting conclusion to the experience.
The activity takes a full day, with an average duration of up to 12 hours, which may vary depending on the group's pace. We start very early to take advantage of daylight and ensure a safe and complete experience. It's not just a climb, but a true immersion in the history of Brazilian mountaineering.
