What you can expect

The Vale dos Deuses Expedition, in Três Picos State Park, is an intense trekking experience and deep immersion into one of the most impressive mountain regions of Rio de Janeiro State. The journey begins with a meeting point at Teresópolis Bus Station, where the group gathers for the transfer to the expedition base, and ends at the same location on the third day.

Over 3 days, travelers cross technical trails, deep valleys, and rocky summits with panoramic views that reveal the vastness and raw beauty of the park.

On the first day, the group heads to the base of Pedra dos Dois Bicos, located in the Vale das Sebastianas. The trail has a moderate level, covering approximately 3.5 km with about 420 meters of elevation gain, reaching the Bico Maior summit at 1,520 meters above sea level. From the top, sweeping views of Vale dos Frades and the surrounding mountain ranges already hint at the magnitude of the expedition. The route continues through iconic rock formations such as Ferro de Passar Roupa and Pedra Entalada, before reaching the Central Tower, the highest point of the day. After the descent, the group heads to Refúgio das Águas, where the evening is dedicated to rest and group connection.

The second day features the most demanding and technical trekking of the expedition, crossing open mountain terrain, rocky slabs, and deep valleys that define the Vale dos Deuses. This section requires focus, endurance, and an adventurous spirit, rewarding hikers with vast views, absolute silence, and a powerful sense of isolation in untouched wilderness. It is the day that best represents the expedition’s essence: challenge, resilience, and total connection with nature.

On the third day, the trek follows descending trails through forested areas and scenic viewpoints, concluding the crossing with a strong feeling of achievement and belonging to the landscape. The return to Teresópolis Bus Station marks the end of an intense journey that blends physical effort, monumental scenery, and moments of reflection in one of the most preserved natural areas of the region.

The expedition is led by specialized mountain guides, with a strong focus on safety, technical guidance, and respect for the natural environment. Ideal for travelers seeking an authentic mountain experience far from conventional routes, the Vale dos Deuses Expedition is a transformative journey for trekking enthusiasts, nature lovers, and those drawn to great challenges.
