What you can expect

  • Most canyons in Tenerife are dry. Los Carrizales is different: hidden in Teno Rural Park, right next to Masca, it's the only canyon on the island with water flowing all year round. We run it from October to June, when the water is fresh and clear — the perfect winter adventure while the rest of Europe is cold.

Meet your guide and head into the canyon. Put on your 4 mm wetsuit, harness and helmet, and descend an impressive volcanic gorge carved by water over millions of years. Abseil down the canyon walls, jump into natural pools and slide down smooth rock chutes, always at a pace that suits your group.

At the end of the canyon, take off your wetsuit and hike back to the starting point through a truly wild landscape, with views of the gorge you've just descended.

Your guide is a certified local climbing and canyoning professional who will explain how all the equipment works, share the story of this unique place and keep you safe at every step. No previous experience is needed, but you must be able to swim and be in good physical shape.
