What you can expect
Enjoy a special Kyoto morning away from the crowds, combining history, culture, and an authentic glimpse into Japanese daily life.
Begin your day with a guided visit to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, one of Kyoto’s most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites. With over 1,200 years of history, Kiyomizu-dera is a symbol of Kyoto and is famous for its wooden stage, built without a single nail, and beautiful views overlooking the city.
Visiting in the morning allows you to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere away from the daytime crowds. Stroll through the temple grounds, admire the historic architecture, and learn about Kiyomizu-dera and Kyoto’s culture from your guide.
After visiting Kiyomizu-dera, take a relaxing walk through a charming traditional Kyoto street before enjoying a traditional Japanese breakfast at a local restaurant.
Ichinenzaka, where the restaurant is located, is a beautiful street with traditional stone paving and historic townhouses. Enjoy Kyoto’s traditional scenery and atmosphere as you walk through this peaceful area, almost as if stepping back in time.
At the restaurant, enjoy a traditional Japanese breakfast loved in Japanese households for generations.
Japanese breakfast incorporates seasonal ingredients and fermented foods. Centered around freshly cooked rice, the meal includes dishes such as miso soup, grilled fish, tofu, and pickles. Your guide will introduce the dishes and ingredients, explaining how they are enjoyed in Japanese daily life.
Breakfast may include:
- Freshly cooked Japanese rice
- Miso soup
- Grilled salmon
- Japanese pickles
- Salted plum (umeboshi)
- Tofu
- Fermented soybeans (natto)
- Rice with raw egg, bonito flakes, and soy sauce
- Furikake seasoning
You do not need to try everything, but we encourage you to discover new flavors and enjoy a special Japanese morning experience.
After breakfast, the tour will come to an end.
Since this experience takes place in the morning, you will have plenty of time to continue exploring Kyoto afterward. We recommend exploring the historic Higashiyama area.
