What you can expect

  • Welcome to Tahiti Safari Islander,

    We will go to the heart of the island of Tahiti. You'll be able to see beautiful mountains, waterfalls and natural pools.

    You can enjoy a beautiful panorama while sitting in a new and comfortable open-top 4WD with local music playing in the back. If the weather is fine, we'll go swimming in the natural pools, and if it's raining, we'll be able to enjoy the many waterfalls. We look forward to helping you discover this Polynesian treasure.

    Please note that the road is very bumpy. There are 37 km to travel in the mountains. The road is neither paved with cement nor asphalt. If you don't feel up to it, please choose another, more leisurely day trip, such as the tour of the island of Tahiti.

    For your outing, please be sure to bring:

    • Towels
    • swimwear
    • Mosquito spray
    • Sandals, flip flops (no shoes)
    • Raincoats
    • 2 liters of water
    • Your picnic (sandwiches, etc.)

    At noon, we will stop at a bakery to buy something to eat and drink. (Not included).

    Itinerary of the day trip with Tahiti Safari Islander:

    8:10 am: Pickup from your hotel
    8:40 am: Stop at the bakery or store (meal not included; allow €5 per person)
    9:20 AM: Off we go to the start of the Papenoo Valley
    (Mountains, trees, waterfalls, stories, legends)
    11:30 AM: Picnic break and swim
    12:30 PM: The day trip continues with the caldera, the volcano, the mountains, the waterfalls, the basalt tunnel, and Lake Vaihiria
    3:00 PM: Exit the valley
    3:30 PM: Arrival at your hotel, end of the day trip.
