The lessons can take place at different spots depending on the sea conditions, between the beaches of La Salie in La Teste-de-Buch and Biscarrosse, with a meeting on site or transportation for up to 4 people at an additional cost.
One of the advantages of taking lessons with a private instructor is mobility. In our region, where surf spots change constantly with the swells and tides, sandbanks shift, altering the areas suitable for lessons. Sylvain knows the spots like the back of his hand and will be able to take you to the right place at the right time so that you can progress in the best possible conditions. In addition to being your instructor, he will be your guide.
High-quality equipment included in the price, suitable boards and 4/3 mm wetsuits to keep you warm even in unpredictable weather.
Lesson structure: 2 hours of practice and theoretical instruction, including 1 hour and 30 minutes in the water.
Once kitted out, you will head to the beach with your instructor to assess the spot and the sea conditions. Sylvain will teach you how to surf, but also how to do so safely. His advice will also focus on understanding the sea and its dangers.
From there, you will determine the goals of the session together. Then, you will be guided through a simple and effective warm-up.
Before going into the water, on the sand, you will receive all the tips and demonstrations that will help you understand the movements and make progress in your surfing, as well as improve your choice of waves and your positioning in the water.
During the session, your instructor will be with you in the water and will adapt to your level, either by helping you to catch your waves or to paddle out to the lineup, while analyzing your positions in order to give you several pieces of feedback on the beach to debrief on your most recent waves.
