What you can expect

Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Malang or Surabaya. Head to Bondowoso and check in to your homestay.

At midnight, set off on a journey through the protected forest to reach the Ijen area. Arrive at the base of the volcano around 2 AM and begin your hike.

Follow your local guide as you make your way up the volcano. If you’re lucky, witness the mesmerizing blue fire, one of only two places in the world where this phenomenon occurs.

After your hike, choose to be dropped off at Ketapang Harbor or return to your hotel in Surabaya or Malang.
