Kick off your workshop at Studio32 Berlin with a welcome drink and an introduction to the world of fermented beverages. You will learn how kombucha, water kefir, and other fermented drinks are made, what effects they have on your microbiome, and why they are a healthy alternative to traditional soft drinks.
During the hands-on portion, you and your group will make various fermented beverages. You will learn how to make water kefir, how to enhance kombucha with tea and flavorings, and how a second fermentation process creates natural carbonation and complex flavors. In the process, you will work with seasonal fruits, herbs, and high-quality ingredients.
During the workshop, you will gain insights into caring for cultures such as SCOBY or kefir crystals and receive valuable tips on storing, continuing to cultivate, and developing your own flavor profiles. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
Finally, you will taste various fermented beverages together and discuss your results. You will go home with new knowledge, your own starter cultures, and inspiration for your own drinks.
