Did you know that the Strait of Messina has some of the most beautiful beaches of the entire island of Sicily? After the pick-up at the cruise port of Messina, by a short ride you will leave behind the hassle of the city center as you reach the coastal area of Messina. Every summer, miles of beaches welcome local people who have the luck to live immersed in such a beautiful landscape.

Many mariner villages, once populated mostly by fishermen, will frame your ride until you reach the beach club, where you will get to take a break from the hot Sicilian summer. Take your seat in a comfortable sunbed below your sun umbrella and unwind right in front of the “toe of the boot”.

While you take the most refreshing swim in the crystal clear water, you can admire in the distance the closest point between the island of Sicily and the Mainland. You may also spot some of the famous and very unique feluca boats while they hunt the swordfish: an ancestral tradition that has taken place since very ancient times.

Before heading back to the cruise port, a quick stop in the city center will let you taste the famous Sicilian granita in one of the best pastry shops in downtown.
