Experience Faber-Castell!
At its headquarters in Stein, the long-established Faber-Castell company offers exciting opportunities for visitors: Faber-Castell Palace, the production of wood-cased pencils, the “Alte Mine” museum, and a special tour on the theme of “The Palace as a Labor Camp.”
A tour of the Graf von Faber-Castell Palace allows visitors to experience the interplay between the spirit of industrial progress and the traditional values of the German nobility. The exterior façade, with its Romanesque-style arches and columns, as well as its round and corner towers, has a medieval appearance. Inside, there is an impressively diverse array of stylistic periods, ranging from Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance to Empire, Classicism, and Art Nouveau. In addition, an exhibition chronicles over 260 years of Faber-Castell's family and company history.
