Itinerary
After picking you up at the Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel, we will head west to Zhujiajiao, a historic gem located 50 kilometers (31 miles) from Shanghai. Did you know that this is the best-preserved water town in the Shanghai area? You'll soon understand why it's known as the Venice of Shanghai!
Once in Zhujiajiao, we will stroll through its traditional streets and admire the centuries-old houses that line the banks of the canals. We will stroll across its picturesque stone bridges, some of which are over 5,000 years old, while we share with you the town's anecdotes and legends.
Afterward, we will take a 20-minute boat ride along the canals to enjoy the beauty of Zhujiajiao from the water. Afterwards, you will have free time to continue exploring the village at your own pace. If you like, you can visit one of the town's gardens on your own or wander through its alleys lined with handicrafts shops.
At the agreed time, we will meet again at a restaurant to enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional dishes and a soft drink.
With our energy replenished, we will return to Shanghai and continue our tour in Tianzifang, an artistically vibrant neighborhood located in the former French Concession. Its labyrinthine streets are home to art galleries, design studios, and elegant boutiques. Here, you will also have the opportunity to do some shopping.
At the end of the visit, you will have the option of staying in Tianzifang or returning by bus to the Shanghai Replica Market, where the tour will conclude after a total of seven to eight hours.
