This experience takes place in the home-studio of the artist Gregor Becker in Soriano nel Cimino (Tuscia) and is designed as a curatorial studio visit: a close encounter with works, materials, and processes, followed by lunch or dinner prepared by the artist.
Meeting point and start of activity: at the agreed time at the entrance of the home-studio in Soriano nel Cimino (details for arrival and address are provided after booking). The activity kicks off with a warm welcome and a quick intro to Gregor's journey and the local scene. The studio's in a unique spot between the castle and the church, right across from the cemetery and near a one-of-a-kind red peperino quarry that's now closed and turned into a pond-ecosystem.
The tour continues in the exhibition hall, with a guided reading of works and materials: you'll observe surfaces, layers, and light, with attention to detail and the time of the material. You then enter the operational studio, where you can see the backstage of the work: tools, tests, work in progress, and process phases that are normally not accessible. A live demonstration of the paper mosaic technique follows, to understand up close how the fragments are composed and how the work is created.
A short walk in the garden completes the experience, linking artistic practice and nature (Gregor started out as a gardener), and capturing the unique atmosphere of Tuscia.
Wrap-up with lunch/dinner: at the end of the visit, you'll share a lunch or dinner cooked by Gregor (on the terrace when the season allows, otherwise indoors). It's a friendly time for questions and conversation. Upon request, you can view available works and discuss formats and possible acquisitions.
The visit ends in the home-studio, at the same place as the meeting point.
Useful notes: we recommend wearing comfortable shoes (there are outdoor/garden areas). If the weather isn't great, the outdoor parts can be shortened or adjusted, but the core of the experience (exhibition hall, studio, demonstration) will stay the same.
