Leave the city behind and spend a half-day in the Dimaniyat Islands Nature Reserve, Oman's most famous marine protected area and home to green and hawksbill sea turtles, colorful coral gardens, and huge schools of tropical fish.
Check in at the Royal Blue Marine Tourism office at Al Mouj Marina at 8:45 AM for a short safety briefing, then depart at 9:00 AM on a comfortable speedboat. After a scenic 45-minute ride across turquoise water, you arrive at the reserve.
Your captain picks the best reef of the day for your first snorkeling session. Float over the coral, look for turtles grazing on the seabed, and swim alongside reef fish. Our crew stays close to help first-timers and children, and life jackets are available for everyone.
While you snorkel, our crew films and photographs you underwater with a GoPro. After the trip we send you your photos and videos for free, so you can enjoy the moment without worrying about your phone.
Back on board, enjoy lunch, cold drinks, and bottled water while you relax and take in the views of the islands. Then head to a second snorkeling spot for another chance to see turtles and marine life.
From November to April, you can also step ashore on one of the islands for photos and a walk on the white sand. From May to October, island landings are closed to protect turtle nesting, so you get extra snorkeling time at two reef locations instead.
All snorkeling gear, life jackets, and marine reserve permits are included. Arrive back at Al Mouj Marina at around 1:30 PM with your photos, a full stomach, and great memories of Oman's underwater world.
