Overview

In the limited embrace of time, the vast wonders of Ecuador beckon. Imagine standing on the precipice of one of the world's loftiest active volcanoes, its history etched deep into the earth, marked by a cataclysmic eruption some 800 years past that sculpted a caldera spanning three kilometers. Feel the pulse of the land as you navigate the roaring rapids of Ecuador's most spirited rivers, each wave a testament to nature's raw power. From dizzying heights, dare to rappel, unveiling vistas that stir the very soul. And when the thrill subsides, let the therapeutic embrace of hot springs restore you. But the crescendo of this journey? A tryst with the Amazon Rainforest. Here, nature's symphony plays uninterrupted. Bathe in the verdant embrace of the forest, listen to the whispers of Pacha Mama, and delve into the age-old secrets held by local communities. If fortune favors, you might even unearth the mystical rites of the sacred. A sensory odyssey awaits.

Due to its perfectly symmetrical cone, covered in a thick blanket of snow and ice, the Cotopaxi is one of the tourist highlights in Ecuador and it’s most visited and climbed volcano. The Cotopaxi National Park is situated in a beautiful paramo plateau, where wild horses graze on the extensive plains at the foot of the volcano or gather to drink at the lovely Limpiopungo lagoon, which reflects the white peaks of nearby Volcan Rumiñahui and makes a great spot for watching waterfowl and other birds. Walking in the National Park, you will notice pumice, ash, stone and other volcanic debris amid the tiny páramos plants. 07.20am Depart Quito 09:00am Visit to Cotopaxi National Park and Limpiopungo Lake - Take some stunning photos 11:00am Departure to Quilotoa

Quilotoa is a water-filled caldera and the most western volcano in the Ecuadorian Andes. The 3 kilometres (2 mi)-wide caldera was formed by the collapse of this dacite volcano following a catastrophic VEI-6 eruption about 800 years ago, which produced pyroclastic flows and lahars that reached the Pacific Ocean, and spread an airborne deposit of volcanic ash throughout the northern Andes. This last eruption followed a dormancy period of 14,000 years and is known as the 1280 Plinian eruption. Before lunch we visit a local indigenous home where you have the opportunity to interact with the locals. 15:00pm Departure to Baños. 18:30pm We drop you off in our guesthouse.
