What you can expect

Embark on a breathtaking Arctic RIB safari from Skjervoy, one of the world’s best whale-watching destinations.

Your adventure begins at the harbor in Skjervoy, where you’ll meet our experienced skippers and receive a full safety briefing. You’ll be introduced to the local marine wildlife, the RIB equipment, and what to expect on the open water. Once geared up in warm flotation suits, you’ll board the rigid inflatable boat and head out into the pristine fjords.

As the boat speeds across the icy waters, surrounded by snow-covered mountains and Arctic silence, the excitement builds. This is one of the best regions in Northern Norway for spotting orcas and humpback whales during the winter herring migration. While sightings are never guaranteed, the chances are excellent — and the thrill of the search makes every moment exciting.

Keep your eyes open for orcas slicing through the surface, humpbacks breaching dramatically, or groups of fin whales and sperm whales feeding in the distance. You may also encounter playful porpoises and sea eagles soaring above, along with other seabirds that inhabit this pristine marine environment.

The RIB's speed and agility allow us to cover more water and respond quickly to whale activity, offering better chances for close and respectful encounters. Your guide will share fascinating information about whale behavior, Arctic marine ecosystems, and the seasonal migration patterns that bring these giants to the fjords of Skjervoy.

Throughout the experience, you’ll have opportunities to pause and soak in the silence and majesty of the Arctic. The scenery alone — jagged peaks, deep fjords, and endless sky — is worth the trip. You’ll also have time for photography, so be sure to bring a camera if you can.

After several unforgettable hours at sea, you’ll return to the harbor filled with awe, inspiration, and a new appreciation for the wild Arctic. This experience is ideal for adventure seekers, nature lovers, and wildlife photographers looking for raw, real, and powerful Arctic moments.

We provide all necessary gear including flotation suits, warm boots, mittens, goggles, and life vests. Please dress in minimum two very thick wooll layers underneath for warmth and comfort.

Book now to secure your spot — availability is limited during the peak whale season, and this is truly one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences in the Arctic.
