Overview

In the past, Silk Route trade passed through many of the Central Asian cities including Almaty, Bishkek, Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Merv. As Caravans stopped in these cities on their way from China to Europe, they exchanged not only goods and ethnic groups, but also knowledge and experience. This made Central Asia a center of master-craftsmen, world-class scholars, and a diverse culture.
