What you can expect

You’ll be picked up directly from your hotel and taken on a scenic and enriching journey across the island.

Begin your experience in the village of Rabil, Boa Vista’s former capital and now a cultural hub known for its traditional pottery. There, you’ll meet local artisans who shape clay into beautiful, handcrafted ceramics — a craft that’s both a livelihood and a proud symbol of the community’s identity. It's a unique chance to observe authentic Cape Verdean craftsmanship and even take home a handmade souvenir.

Next, immerse yourself in the golden sands of the Viana Desert. Formed by Sahara sand blown across the ocean, this peaceful, shifting landscape feels like a miniature desert oasis in the heart of the island. The dunes offer breathtaking views and a sense of stillness that contrasts beautifully with the vibrant life of the coast.

Then, travel to Praia de Atalanta, where you’ll encounter the striking shipwreck of the MS Cabo Santa Maria. Stranded here since 1968, the rusting remains of this cargo ship have become one of Boa Vista’s most iconic and photographed sights. Its dramatic silhouette against the sea and sand makes for an unforgettable stop — a symbol of both natural beauty and maritime history.

Afterwards, visit to the Chapel of Our Lady of Fátima, one of Boa Vista’s most symbolic religious landmarks. Recently restored, this peaceful stone chapel sits on a hill just outside Sal Rei and offers panoramic ocean views. It's a serene site with deep cultural and spiritual importance, and your guide will share the inspiring story behind its origins and recent revival.

Before returning, stop in Sal Rei, the island’s laid-back capital, for a short visit to the municipal market. Here, you’ll find a colorful mix of local products — from seasonal fruits and vegetables to handmade crafts — offering a final taste of everyday life on the island.

At the end of the tour, you will be comfortably dropped off at your hotel, enriched by the culture, landscapes, and spirit of Boa Vista.
