Day 3: Arrive in Lhasa – Acclimatize to the High Altitude

Welcome to Lhasa. Upon arrival, be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is intentionally kept free to allow your body to adjust to Lhasa’s high altitude (3,650 meters).

Day 4: Lhasa – Discover Tibet’s Great Monasteries

Delve into Tibetan Buddhism with visits to two of its most important monasteries. Start at Drepung Monastery, once the world’s largest monastery, which housed over 10,000 monks. In the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery, famous for its lively Buddhist debating sessions.

Day 5: Lhasa – Explore the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple

Begin at the majestic Potala Palace, the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama. This architectural masterpiece, towering over the city, is filled with sacred chapels, tombs, and artifacts. Later, proceed to the Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s holiest shrine. Don’t miss the vibrant Barkhor Street circling the temple, a perfect place to feel the city’s pulse.

Day 6: Lhasa to Shigatse – Yamdrok Lake and KaroLa Glacier

Bid farewell to Lhasa and embark on a stunning drive to Shigatse. The journey is highlighted by a visit to the mesmerizing Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes, renowned for its stunning turquoise waters set against dramatic mountain scenery. Then, cross the Karola Glacier, offering incredible photo opportunities of this icy landscape.

Day 7: Shigatse to Everest Base Camp

After obtaining the necessary permits in Shigatse, drive through spectacular high-altitude scenery towards the world’s highest peak. The anticipation builds as you enter the Qomolangma National Nature Reserve. By late afternoon, arrive at Everest Base Camp (5,200m) and be rewarded with an unforgettable, up-close view of the majestic north face of Mt. Everest, especially breathtaking at sunset.

Day 8: Everest Base Camp to Shigatse – Visit Rongbuk Monastery

Before departing, visit the world’s highest monastery, Rongbuk Monastery, which offers another phenomenal perspective of the mountain.
