Noboribetsu Jigokudani Valley

The origin of the name "Jigokudani" ("Hell Valley") comes from the impression given by the area's bubbling, boiling hot water that's said to look like "hell, where demons live." As a tourist destination, it is beloved by the people of Hokkaido. Jigokudani (meaning "Hell's Valley") does indeed look like hell. Volcanic gases spout from the cracks in the rocks, and the smell of sulfur along with the billowing white smoke and simmering hot springs, are truly impressive. Lake Toya

Lake Toya is a scenic, nearly circular caldera lake in Hokkaido, Japan, renowned for its, clear, ice-free winter waters and surrounding active volcanoes (Mount Usu and Showa Shinzan). Located in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, it offers year-round attractions including hot springs (Toyako Onsen), and nightly fireworks from April to October

The Bank of Japan Otaru Museum is housed in the original Otaru Branch building, designed by Kingo Tatsuno and his protégé, Uheiji Nagano and completed in 1912.
