What you can expect

Enjoy a guided tour from Santander to Santoña, a charming fishing village internationally renowned for its exceptional anchovies. Travel in a comfortable minivan on a scenic 40-minute drive, accompanied by a guide who will introduce you to the history, seafaring culture, and natural landscapes of this unique area of Cantabria.

Along the way, you will pass through the marshlands of Santoña, Victoria, and Joyel, one of the region’s most important natural areas. This protected natural park is a haven for birdlife and a must-see for nature lovers.

The first stop will be at the traditional anchovy factory Conservas Emilia, where you will discover the artisanal process behind Santoña’s famous anchovies. You will also enjoy a tasting of this celebrated local delicacy, one of Cantabria’s great gastronomic treasures.

Next, relax on a one-hour boat cruise across the bay, sailing toward the iconic El Caballo Lighthouse. From the water, admire spectacular views of the cliffs, the bay, and the Cantabrian Sea. Guests who prefer to stay on land may instead enjoy free time to stroll through Santoña and explore the village at their own pace.

Before returning to Santander, we will take a short walk up to the historic Fort of San Martín and enjoy a panoramic drive through Santoña, passing some of its most representative sights, including the fishing port and the seaside promenade.

This guided tour is a peaceful and enjoyable excursion suitable for all ages, especially recommended for those who wish to experience coastal landscapes, local gastronomy, and authentic seafaring culture.
