What you can expect
Experience an intimate Chef's Table at Casa Magdalena, in the heart of Santa Marta's Historic Center, where you will learn how to prepare a traditional Samario breakfast with local chefs from the Escapista Hospitality group. Unlike generic cooking classes in Colombia, this experience focuses exclusively on the flavors of the Caribbean coastal breakfast, in a space designed specifically for culinary experiences.
The morning begins with freshly brewed Colombian coffee and an introduction to the gastronomic traditions of the Caribbean coast. Guided by the chefs, you'll prepare cayeye with coastal cheese, crispy egg arepas, handmade carimañolas, chicharrón, and the traditional ahogao, while learning about the history and cultural value of each recipe.
Amid Caribbean aromas, tropical music, and conversations around the open kitchen, the experience culminates with a shared breakfast at a family table, inspired by the old houses of the Caribbean. More than a cooking lesson, it's an invitation to a Samarian home. Available daily at 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM.
