What you can expect

Embark on a 2-day adventure to the summit of Licancabur Volcano. Enjoy a 4x4 ride to the base camp, acclimatize with a trek, and then make the ascent to the summit.

Day 1:
Be picked up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama at 2:00 PM. Drive for 1 hour to the border of Hito Cajon, Chile. Cross the border into Bolivia and enter the Eduardo Avaroa National Park. Check in at the Laguna Blanca Refuge at 4300 meters above sea level.

Continue to the base camp at 4600 meters above sea level. Acclimatize with a 6-kilometer trek. Return to the Laguna Blanca Refuge for dinner at 6:00 PM.

Day 2:
Wake up at 4:00 AM and have breakfast. Begin the ascent of Licancabur Volcano from the base camp. Reach the summit at 5916 meters above sea level after 6-7 hours. Spend some time at the top before beginning the 3-hour descent.

Return to San Pedro de Atacama at 4:00 PM.
