We start from the city by bike: Our ride begins with a 5-kilometer climb, on paved streets and some dirt trails to the east.
Afterwards, we take a short downhill ride to see the small communities of the Tzotzil Mayan group of Chamula. This part of the area is divided into 97 small villages of 40 to 80 houses scattered among pine and oak forests.

We'll visit a 17th-century church in Carmen del Arcotete and talk about Mayan culture and traditions. At this point, we have our longest break.

We continue with ups and downs on community dirt roads, heading towards the natural stone arch and El Arcotete Community Park. There, we'll have the option of another long break and/or having a light snack or drink. We walk down to the arch or see the small grotto inside the arch.

We'll start the final climb to find our way back and descend to the city on a paved road, completing the approximately 20 km.

During the tour, we talk about history, culture, and traditions. We also give tips on using a mountain bike and the proper technique.

We are nature lovers and enjoy sharing our experience. Biking gives us the opportunity to visit non-touristy places and get some exercise.
