What you can expect

Meet at the entrance to Saint-Paul-de-Vence to immerse yourself in one of the most iconic villages on the French Riviera. Your local guide will welcome you and take you on a walk lasting over 2 hours, leading you through cobbled streets, past artists' houses and galleries, and along panoramic ramparts.

You will start by exploring the gates and the old fortifications, before climbing up to the ramparts to admire the view of the hills and the Mediterranean in the distance. Along the way, your guide will tell you about the history of this hilltop village, its medieval origins, its traditions, and how Saint-Paul-de-Vence became a haven for artists and writers.

You will then wander through the narrow streets, which are lined with galleries, studios, and iconic shops. You will stop at a church steeped in history, in front of several remarkable façades, and in the studios of artists who are still active today. Throughout the tour, your guide will share interesting anecdotes about the prominent figures who have shaped the village and its surroundings, such as Marc Chagall and the artists associated with the Maeght Foundation, as well as insights into the daily life of St. Paul residents at different times in history.

Throughout the tour, your guide will share their favorite spots, their preferred photo locations, and tips for continuing to explore the village after the tour. The goal is to make you feel like a guest rather than just a tourist.

Whether you’re passionate about history or art, or simply looking for a pleasant walk, this tour of Saint-Paul-de-Vence offers you a comprehensive experience: heritage, panoramic views, culture, and art all in one visit.
