What you can expect

Begin your 4.5-hour excursion in Grenada with a city tour of St. George’s, the island’s capital. You’ll gain general historical knowledge and experience the city’s present-day charms and natural beauty. Visit the Port Louis marina, where the French first docked in 1650 and named the settlement Port Louis. In 1763 the British renamed the town St. George’s in honor of King George III. In St. George's city you’ll see historical forts that offer picturesque views of the entire capital, southern St. George’s, and the island’s main port. Take a walk through the local market, where you can choose from your favorite tropical fruits, spices, and vegetables as you’re greeted by the native vendors. Stop at the National Museum, and as you continue on you’ll see examples of the city’s Georgian architecture and fish-scale roofs. The Sendall Tunnel connects the city center with the picturesque Carenage area, where you can enjoy a waterfront walk, passing a range of local restaurants and bars, shopping booths, and outlets that demonstrate the creative skills of the native people. See the cargo ships and fishing boats of all sorts.

Next, a 30-minute drive will take you to the island's interior to the rainforest, where the 7 Sisters Falls are located. Before starting your rainforest hike, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Grand Etang Lake, a crater lake in an extinct volcano, (admission USD 2.00), the souvenir shops, and the information and lookout center. On your 35-40 minute fun hike to the 7 Sisters Falls (admission USD 2.00), you’ll meet local farmers who will educate you about the different fruits, vegetables, crops, and spices grown on the cultivated farm lands. On the trails you’ll also experience the island's wildlife, including different types of birds and of course its famous Mona monkeys. This hike can become muddy, but after the trek you’re welcome to jump right into the cool, refreshing, and tantalizing pools at the first 2 of the 7 falls. This is your opportunity to experience agro-tourism in Grenada. The hike takes you through cultivated farmlands, where fruits, vegetables, farm animals, and spices are found in abundance.
