Join an authentic Pizza Cooking Class in a historic Roman district between Trastevere and Porta Portese and enjoy a hands-on experience dedicated to the art of the traditional Roman pizzaiolo.
This experience is fully guided by a professional pizzaiolo, who will lead you through every step of the preparation. After a short introduction to the history of pizza and its key ingredients, you will begin with the basics: – preparing the dough using water, flour, yeast and olive oil, – cutting and folding the dough to form individual dough balls, – stretching the dough rounds, – selecting and adding the toppings.
Once the pizza is ready, the pizzaiolo will demonstrate how to place the pizza on the peel and explain the techniques of baking in a traditional wood-fired oven, the true heart of the experience and a defining element of authentic Italian pizza.
At the end of the class, you will enjoy tasting the pizza you prepared, sharing a convivial moment with the pizzaiolo. The experience concludes with the presentation of the official “Pizzaiolo” certificate.
